Wild Burger Grille
We got there as soon as they opened the door. We were the first ones to order which meant absolutely no wait. The girl was very nice and friendly that took our order. It is a normal burger joint where you place your order at the counter and then go get your own drink and find your own seat. Being there so early there was not a long wait at all for our food. They did bring it out to our table which I liked, that is a little different than other burger places. As we sat there and ate our burgers 3 different girls cam by our table to check on us and take our trash when we were done. My burger itself was really good. My wife's burger was good but had a sauce on it that was overwhelming and took away from the rest of the burger. They give you a comment card at the beginning of the meal. Most of the time these are just thrown to the side and left on the table, but today my wife filled one out to express her opinion on the sauce. What I found to be interesting was that as we were getting ready to leave and filling up our drinks, one of the girls came over and took her card and actually went and read it with 3 other girls. I thought that was really good, even though we were still in the store, because it showed me that they actually read the cards and take them seriously. I can tell you from experience that that doesn't happen often. 4 stars are given for our experience today, because of the type of place it is we still received a good amount of service.

Sonic, west 82nd street
This will be short and sweet as was my visit. Quick on the answer of the button. Took my order with ease which is very simple to begin with. I try to speak clear in to the microphone because I know what it is like to be on the other side of the intercom as well. Order was out within 3 minutes, which from what I have always understood 4 minutes is their time frame for orders. The carhop was prompt and nice and repeated my order. Did not linger for a tip which I have noticed that some carhops do. However, I clearly ordered the combo with tater tots and when I got to my brothers house to eat it, they were not in there. I did not call and complain because it was not worth my time to go back up there just for tater tots, but I will knock off some stars for that of course. So I give a 3 and a half stars for service from beginning to end for this particular visit.

Nicks Sports Bar and Grill
I am very biased for this particular establishment. Again, the food was great as always, I always get the same thing and it has never disappointed. I frequent this bar at least once a week, and my friend is there a little more. It is a rare occasion to have bad service here. The one time we did have bad service was with a waitress that I don't think I have seen since then. Yesterday I went there to watch the second half of the Texas Tech football game against Texas with my older brother and met my friend and his wife there. They showed up at the beginning of the game and already had a table. There is always a waitress or the manager at the door to greet you, which is always nice. It is a self seating bar just like most of them, so there was no wait or anything of the sort (there never is, unless it is extremely busy). We went in sat right down with our friends and was immediately waited on by a waitress that we have had before and is always good. She took our drink order and was back with them really quick, which was really nice considering we had only ordered tea (it was only 1 in the afternoon), and sometimes when you don't order an alcoholic drink of some sort at a bar you tend to get bad service or at least slow service because waiters and waitresses want to wait on tables where drinking is going on because that's where they are going to make the most money. This was not the case this time. She took our order as soon as she brought our drinks back. My tea was almost empty when she filled it up the first time, which did not bother me because my food was not out yet. You will learn that I drink alot while I eat, keeping my drink (which is usually tea) full is very important to me. As soon as our food came out she refilled our teas, which was a plus, and brought us silverware within seconds. As soon as I was done eating I ordered a beer along with my friend that was already sitting there and of course that was brought back very quickly and the next two I ordered were brought to us before our older beers were empty, which is a huge plus at a bar. There is nothing worse than having an empty beer and still having to wait on the waiter or waitress to come and even take the order. They were switching out the keg on our particular beer at one time, and she came right over and told us about it and said it would be a few extra minutes because of it. That is significant because I am a huge believer of educating the customer. She could have just as easily let us wait the few extra minutes, which may not have been a big deal to us, but with her taking out the extra time to make it a point to tell us about the keg being switched out kept us at ease while we waited for our next beer. I was not empty by any means but my friend was getting there and he may have noticed that his new beer wasn't there yet, which in the surface seems minuscule but in reality had she not said anything about the keg and then it took longer than expected to switch it out and then took her longer to deliver the beer which keeps an empty glass in front of him, which most bar hoppers and drinkers do notice could ultimately take away from her tip at the end of the day, which she saved by taking a few seconds to say "they are switching out the kegs, so it will be a few minutes." In all actuality, she was back at our table quickly with our new beers and all was good. I think of all the times I have been there, which is a lot, We have had one bad experience, with a waitress that did not seem to know what she was doing, and like I said earlier, I have not seen her in there since. I have to give 4 and half stars again, because it was not perfect but pretty darn close. It will take a lot for me to give a perfect five stars, but this was as close to getting them as it will come.

Anna's Mexican Restaurant
Went to eat lunch today at around 1 at Anna's on Indiana and the loop. Walked right in and sat down immediately as always. It was not real busy at this time so I expected nothing less than to be seated right away. Did not have to wait long for a waitress to come over and take our drink orders. She returned quickly with our drinks, chips and salsa. She was nice and courtious and kept up with keeping our drinks full. Which is hard to do for me because I drink tea very fast and usually go empty many times before refill, even with the best of service. Our chip refill was a little late due to the fact we ate the chips quickly, but that's just splitting hairs at this point. Our food took a few minutes longer than normal. Usually, the food comes out in a timely manner and this was not a long wait by any stretch but it was also not at the normal pace. Being on that side of the kitchen in the past I am sure there is an explanation for the small delay, however I am trying to get away from making excuses for such things and try and look at it all from a different perspective. On the bright side, ahe never let our drinks go empty and was nice from the beginning, as was the hostess on our way in and our way out of the door. Check was also delivered and taken promptly from the table with no hassle or hovering. I frequent this restaurant and have never had a bad experience,at the same time my wife is friends with the owner, but even when she is not there we have a great meal and experience. Always a recomendation to go eat there. I guess my ratings system will be 5 stars or something along those lines, and in this case I give 4 and a half.
What it's all about
I've decided to start reviewing the customer service side of any and every business I go to for service, whether it is a grocery store, autoparts store and especially restaurants of all kinds. It will mainly be Lubbock establishments because being a student I do not travel much. My credibility is that I have been in the customer service business for over 10 years in different establishments. I have been in fast food, retail at a department store, a tuxedo shop and a grocery store. I have loved every bit of it and was very good at all them, especially when it came to dealing with upset people directly. I guess i have decided to follow in my wonderful sister-in-law footsteps in reviewing these types of places, with the change of reviewing the people and service and not the actual food or product. I believe there are many food critics out there, some credible and probably some that are not. I figured that I would start a service ratings blog and see what happens. I am sure that there are plenty of sites like this out there, but I feel that with my experience from behind the counter that I see alot more of what goes on from the other side as well.
I will look at each and every aspect of the exerience outside of the food quality. I'll leave that up to actual food critics. I will try and give a detailed description on my experience from beginning to end, time limits and attitudes included. I hope that this catches on and turns in to something big and respected. I hope to also change a lot of places and people's attitudes. Nothing ruins a good meal and a good night like bad service from someone who just doesn't care.
Please feel free to criticize my opinions and writings as they are only opinions based on my experience. Also, if you have suggestions on particular places you would like me to visit please share them with me.
